Got Dark Corridor #2 from my specialty store today and read it right away. I like it a lot. I am not a hardcore fan of noir books but still, beyond the genre aspects, this is my kind of book. As it turns out, this could well be the first time I’m actually subscribed to a current title. Well spent money.

More generally speaking, in the early days, I always thought Image could harbour such diversity as it features nowadays and I’m glad as years have gone by my hope turned reality. I’m not saying that specific company is the only actor to credit for the US landscape, but the North American market is so much richer thanks to Image’s wide range of titles. Readers may take it for granted but they shouldn’t.

(Maybe years ago you’d only picture Dark Corridor under the Fantagraphics logo, wouldn’t you?)

Liked and subscribed. Well, actually, first I subscribed to the title and then got my copy of this first issue. Rich Tommaso’s cartoonish style (and retro aesthetics in this case) is a sure bet when it comes to my reading appetites. And while I was not particulary fond of “The horror of Collier County”, “The Cavalier Mr. Thompson”, that’s another story. One of the very few “somebody else’s books” I wouldn’t mind signing myself. Incidentally, will we ever get a sequel to the latter? I hope so.
